| Also, word is starting to leak out about YOUR kids that haven’t made your team. Your kids are trying out at other clubs. After years of your kids only accepting kids that are “known players” or “standouts” and treating those, and only those, kids decently when they make the team, let’s hope they are treated better at their tryouts. Have fun with that. For all of you that don’t think your DC is in this position, look at the success of the older ARL teams, they will be soon. The kids are catching up to yours with size and speed. Our kids are coming for your kids. After years of you normalizing your kids being mean, expect the same when yours get bumped. None of us will be there trying to help yours when you stood idly by and thought your DC’s behavior was normal. We look forward to seeing your DC at IDs. |
Agreed. Just look at US vs Japan recently and see where things are heading in world football (international term for soccer). |
What success of ARL older teams? |
+1 The mean girl attitude is strong at Arlington. Definitely not that way at other club tryouts. |
X10 |
Agreed. |
| They hate us cuz they ain’t us. |
whut?!? Lol who hurt you. Point them out |
Not to invalidate your opinion, I'm sure there are truths there. As a parent that has been through this year after year, can't put too much energy into what is going on outside of your control. Just have to focus on what you can, and that is getting your DC into the best opportunity available to them for the level they're at. Thankfully there are a LOT of options now. |
You didn't feel even SLIGHTLY ridiculous typing this all out? Not even a little bit? |
| Are we talking about an entire club or a team? |
I’m guessing both 🤭 |
Lmao!!! |
Not sure what team this is. My kid attended ARL tryouts and while the girls weren't chirpy to my DD, they weren't being "mean". They mostly kinda ignored each other and not talking to all the new kids which to be expected I guess. I have never seen any clubs whose team are so happy to welcome kids at the tryouts really. Again, there's a difference between the ARL kids ignoring those that trying out vs them being mean toward those kids. If there was an intentional mean girls toward your kid, I would just email them and let them know. |
| How do you be mean at a tryout? Earnest question. Only thing i can think of is getting hard passes that are tough to control in a drill or getting tackled hard in the scrimmage or being iced out on a wing with no service. BUt I get a sense that is not what we're talking about? |
