I thought atheists just don’t believe in God or gods?

posted x2 by an atheist who disagrees with other atheists.

And?

Who cares?

Some atheists say they believe in the supernatural and some say they don’t.

It’s contradictory and confusing when someone (apparently an atheist) repeatedly posts untrue statements about all atheists.

If these posts are too confusing for you then maybe you should go try the entertainment forum.

Atheists are openly contradicting each other. They are the confused ones.

No, sorry dude, it is you.

Everyone else understands people can disagree.

Is that a core tenet of atheism?

It’s confusing because many atheists have posted here that atheism just means no belief in a God or gods.

There are no "core tenets" of atheism.

For me, gods = supernatural. Same thing.

An atheist has twice posted in this thread that no atheist believes in the supernatural world.

Are you saying your disbelief in the supernatural world is limited to God/gods? That other supernatural elements could be genuine?

No

If anything, this forum has shown that trolls are real.

It’s a simple definition. Look it up.

Anyone else feel like the “atheist” posting for all atheists is… not even an atheist? More likely some religious troll trying to stir the pot on a boring day.

Which atheist are you referring to? There are multiple posters.

In the world I grew up in, atheism=belief exclusively in science. So for me and many like me, that rules out anything “supernatural,” whatever that means. So, no to anything that cannot be observed.

This is correct. So what is confusing to you exactly?

It seems pretty logical if you don’t believe in anything supernatural that also excludes God or gods. I don’t see where any confusion could arise about this

What is wrong with confusion and doubt? You say it like a put down. I thought they were the natural part of being a true believer. Ditto for non believers.

The PP is right, I don't think you have the intellectual horse power for this discussion.

Gods are supernatural. Atheism is lack of theism. It does not have "core tenets"
