Any day Vassar, else, Grinnell, Williams are far better than Middlebury

Someone is on the pipe again. I'm sorry that Midd rejected your kid but it is time to move on.

middlebury reads wealthy hipster, but it's really preprofessional. they have a shocking number of grads that move directly into finance, tech, consulting, etc.

not sure if you think that's a good thing or bad.

All SLACS in top 25 are excellent and elite. Period. No point in comparing them on academics and rigor.

Difference could be in terms of majors that they champion such as Econ, Pre-med, CS etc hence some are good in sending to street, some to silicon valley, for eg Mudd/GrinnellAmherst/Pomona etc good for CS, W&L/Williams/Amherst/Bowdoin/CMK etc good for Econ, Mudd/Williams/Wellesley etc for Maths and so on.

I didnt' compare them on academics or rigor. I compared outcomes and destinations, which are publicly available.

This is not a bad place to start. Middlebury mid table on top 60 schools recruited for IB. Vassar not on the list.

and yes, this is all I said. not about pre-med or or whatever. just this. I said Midd was good for *this*

Where is Bucknell in this list?

Yes, and why not I should be on pipe, when I see my kid is happy at Vassar

you didnt really think Bucknell is a target school for top IB, did you? it places kids in trainee programs at the Charlotte branch of WF

Data says otherwise, time to move on and get employed somewhere.

Vassar is a great school, it was my nieces top choice and she would have went there if the aid was better. But she would say that Middlebury, Williams, and Grinnell are better than Vassar. Vassar was just the better fit for her.

At least Middlebury and Williams have pretty campuses. Grinnell has two, maybe three buildings that might catch your eye and make you feel like you’re on an historic campus.

Very true. Instead of historic campus, more of historic city thats. Wonder, why they have low acceptance rate and so much hype for a college that's literally middle of nowhere.

Based on the three people I know that went to Vassar, all of whom are people that are such pretentious a-holes that I can't stand them, I would 100% pick Middlebury over Vassar. Such drama queens, such a-holes, so many stuck up pricks.

Did you mean to say "she would have gone there"?

Probably should have said “would have attended had the aid been better”. But who really cares?

I wrote the post which mentioned my niece. I know multiple people who went to Vassar, they are all wonderful people. Why be a douchebag?
