Middlebury or Vassar (Parchment says Vassar)

I'm surprised by this. I would think Midd would be picked by most given the choice. Not by a super wide margin, but still ...

I would choose Vassar for its location and student body over Middlebury any day.

Note that the comparison is not in color. Therefore the result is not significant at a reliable confidence level.

It’s junk, not a significant sample size. Totally normal for parchment

These decisions aren’t made in a vacuum. Vassar has decided to use more of its budget on financial aid compared to Midd and Bowdoin etc.

However, the policy at all of these schools is to meet the demonstrated financial need of the students they accept.

But vassar offers grant aid to a higher percentage of students.

It will depend on how wealthy you are. The wealthier you are, the more likely you are to pick Midd.

I think parchment correlates strongly with which school gives more generous aid.

What is typical HHI for Midd?

I’d choose Vassar. Midd is too isolated

Midd has really good salary outcomes. Vassar is really artsy.

Vassar alumna here… I wouldn’t say Vassar is artsy necessarily. It’s definitely not a Big-10 football school but it’s definitely a mix of art and science and everything in between. Oh and I make $300K so I’d say there’s possibility of good salary outcomes from Vassar too

In this site, these schools place in the same general vicinity by "Career Outcomes Rank," with Middlebury at #124 and Vassar at #151 when compared to other colleges and universities nationally:
