What are everyone's thoughts on UF (University of Florida)?

Lol UVA? C'mon man. UT-Austin > UVA. UT-Austin OOS acceptance rate is like 5% with over 90,000 aps. UVA has to do Early Decision for yield. This forum is always entertaining. Gotta love the DMV.

If you lived in Texas, you'd know that UVA is much better than UT. UT looks great to outsiders from its shiny STEM programs and great business school, but aside from that it's huge, overcrowded, horrible college feel, and many of the mandatory in-state kids have trouble keeping up socially and academically. If you are CS at UT, then it's fantastic.

NEU does an abroad version in London (and maybe elsewhere) and also a version where they ship freshman to Oakland, CA instead of Boston. The schools do this because students drop out and it helps them keep their numbers up.

Right, I’m familiar with that. UVA has Wise, W&M sends kids abroad, UNC does too, but to me, that is not the same as accepting a kid contingent on them being online for a year. That would be a dealbreaker for me.

The campus has a lake with alligators lol. But no, they typically don’t stray far. They’re in every body of fresh water in FL, it’s just how it is!
