Ok this seems personal to you. Believe what you want. I don't care. You use the works stupid but facts and reality aren't stupid. I don't assume all mall are affected sounds like the one near you is not. Fine. Again, I don’t care. I don't care if a mall is affected or not. I am not saying all are. Hence my question in the OP, which I stand by. I don't care if you don't like my question or think it is stupid. |
| Op, to answer you ... in my community, no one in the usually packed Mexican Taco/Market, and I say this knowing that it is wall to wall hispanic on any given day with no parking in front because my office are usually the only non hispanics in there, we laugh about it all the time. Also, no workers hanging around my local Home Depot in the mornings and most of the painting crews in my neighborhood (lots of repairs going on) have postponed some of the projects and my neighbors are boiling over mad about it since we are in an area where it is difficult to engage talented contractors since there is so much work. Another thing I've noticed recently, the McDonalds I go past three or four times a day and usually has very little line at the drive thru, all of a sudden is doubled lane packed all day. I suspect most of the contractors not going into our local Mexican businesses are just opting for the drive thru at this point. Can't blame them. Definitely a shift in behavior where I live. A noticeable shift. |
| Throne ear me is very empty now, not because of fear of raids, but fear of the Republicans tanking the economy. |
I don't believe talented contractors need to hang around the Home Depot parking lot looking for work. |
| Yes. I don't see them hanging outside 7-11 or Home Depot anymore. Walmart is a lot less busier than usual. There were more cashiers than customers the other day, it was really strange to see. |
PP was making two separate points…that the contractors are now losing workers on their crews and separately there are not day laborers hanging around outside HD. |
| Troll harder |
Yes!!! That is the word, strange, it is almost eerie. It sorts feels like the 90s, when everything was just less crowded overall. |
Any credible source for that claim? No? Didn't think so. Keep on trollin'. |
Many go to Home Depot and other stores to buy materials for handy man jobs they are doing under the table. Now, they aren't. |
I don’t know what Ratchet shopping mall you go to, but the shopping centers near my house are still very busy. |
| A couple of restaurants in md were closed., |
| Our Home Depot was busy yesterday. I have noticed that groups of men no longer stand outside 7-11 or the nearby shopping center parking lot looking for work. Overall there appears to be less people out on the streets in certain parts of town. |
I don’t understand why anyone would be afraid? T-rump is only going after illegal immigrants. So why is anyone staying home? |
Because if you are brown you are considered illegal until you prove otherwise. Apparently some ICE agents didn’t realize if your are from Puerto Rico you are legal by birth. |
