Barely any flurries as of now. But by 6am today they had already made an announcement to close programs and buildings 12pm onwards for today.

Models are still in flux.

Right now they're coalescing around a Tuesday 5" snowfall for beltway area, with more snow in the south and less snow in the north.

This means no school on Wednesday, and maybe a delay on Thursday.

Snow is supposed to start Tuesday morning, so Tuesday closed, and Wednesday. Depending on temps and how easy it is to shove this snow, either delay or normal start Thursday.

They are so conservative that almost certainly it'll be a delay on Thursday. They don't have to make that up with the state either.

They are so conservative that almost certainly it'll be a delay on Thursday. They don't have to make that up with the state either.

They do generally like a delayed start the morning after a snow/ice closure, because they prefer to check for pipe leaks and heating malfunctions before the kids are actually subject to them. Temps will be marginal, not arctic cold, though, so I don't know at what threshold they stop doing that.
