Code purple is now gone. https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/emergency/closings/

Yep. Complain to the state.

No complaints from me. That "asynchronous" day last year for my kindegartener was a complete waste of time.

But with an asynchronous day, the school year didn't need to be extended further.

The state could allow real virtual learning with live instruction, while still prohibiting asynchronous which I agree should not count.

No

And it wouldn’t help in this case anyway. Everything will melt on Sunday. We will have school on Monday. It’s a Tuesday’s fresh stuff that will be an issue. I suspect 2 hour delay on Friday.

Yeah and if there’s a lot of snow there’s going to be the melt and refreeze

Plus all childcare in MCPS buildings needs to be cancelled for the week. Out of a concern for ‘safety’.

That's why we have salt, and gutters.

The National weather service says it will rain, and be relatively warm. I expect no delays or closures.

You are incorrect. I just checked their website and it will snow on Tuesday

Is the snow totals higher for northern portion of county?
Anonymous
I predict it will be too warm but we will have a delay because the news is hyping this up.
