Are we using home kits to test for flu?

I didn't bother because my kids aren't high risk and wouldn't qualify for tamiflu and it didn't seem worth the money just to know.

You can get tamiflu

The problem is that it felt like a basic cold yesterday. Sniffles, light cough. I even went to the gym. It wasn’t until last night that the body aches and splitting headache started.

What’s “the problem”?

The problem is I feel bad that I spread it.

And yes I have Flu A, confirmed on a home swab. Started Tamiflu this afternoon. I’ve had the flu before and it usually doesn’t start mild like this.

prescriptions are different for each

Well we’re not 80 so no need for paxlovid.

god bless you

He already has. I've never had to the flu.

Some might use it to decide if they want to go forward with dealing with a minute clinic/getting tamiflu etc…

This is precisely why we use the combo test. To know if we need Tamiflu or paxlovid. And I can find it out without going into a medical facility with tons of ill people (most not masking), so I won't end up with something else either.

And yes, if I test for Flu or Covid, I isolate from my household so we can prevent others from getting ill and I mask if I need to go out anywhere in public

That's what my husband said, until this year when he got the flu and was out for two weeks.

Don't you? We've actually never had flu before so I don't really know. I was going off the CDC page which says treatment isn't necessary if you aren't high risk (and did before the inauguration haha).

I also thought tamiflu was for vulnerable populations, not everyone.

DD and I just had this, also tested negative for covid and flu.

Taking at home means not going into germy urgent care. Can get on tami flu quickly(works better if you take asap)

My kids was also fever free in 36 hours but without Tamiflu. He was only feverish at night, three nights in a row, and felt tired and sluggish but not as bad as I would have thought with the flu.
