Are we using home kits to test for flu?

Taking at home means not going into germy urgent care. Can get on tami flu quickly(works better if you take asap)

And this meant missing a crap ton less school, and work.

We did a home test for DS and he was positive for flu B. It’s been mild, luckily.

Are the flu tests combo with Covid tests? I want to ship some to my parents.

Is tamiflu over the counter or do you need a prescription?

We’re not. If someone’s sick they stay home. IDGAF what strain of sickness it is outside of strep which can be treated. Covid, flu, norovirus. Doesn’t matter and are treated the same.

You can get tamiflu

The problem is that it felt like a basic cold yesterday. Sniffles, light cough. I even went to the gym. It wasn’t until last night that the body aches and splitting headache started.
last year I took tamiflu on what was likely day 3-first day with fever that I felt like death, took tamiflu and was functioning within 12 hours

I didn't know otc flu tests were available. Do you buy them at pharmacies?

At my local Harris Teeter, they are on the Pharamcy shelf...like right where you pick up your drugs.

Yes, I used a dual test on kid a. She had flu on second, but not first test so it was too late for Tamiflu. Kid two got sick, fever, ect. Started Tamiflu immediately. We'll see how fast his resolves. Kid 2 gets way sicker for way longer than kid one. It's weird that the younger is "stronger" in the immune system.

I have read that this year’s flu vaccine wasn’t a great match against the strain that is circulating. So it is very possible that you have the flu even if you were vaccinated. I had flu A back in December and you are describing how I felt. Good luck and feel better soon!

Honestly when *is* the flu shot a good match?

Good to know thanks! I’m miserable at the moment. Waiting for my dr to call me back!

I don't know how accurate they are, and there are also a lot of other viruses going around. My daughter just tested negative for Covid & flu, but has a 102 fever.
