USAID was a test case. What agencies are next? (after CFPB)

They’ve already said they’ll have to present a legislative proposal for abolishing ED and can’t just do it by fiat.

USAID doesn't exist anymore, don't believe their lies. The website is gone, the building is locked down - they wouldn't even let Members of Congress in yesterday, the employees are locked out, food aid is rotting in US ports.

Small Business Administration will be gutted because of their preferences. Dept of Education will be hollowed out. EPA surely is in trouble, but doesn't seem to be touched yet.

They removed the stars that honored the USAID employees who died in service.

Elon is the devil.

Is this for real? OMG

That was yesterday. You make decisions very quickly it seems, rather than watching as a situation continues to unfold.

Don't be hasty.

I pay attention to actions, not words. Because Trump, Musk and their minions are all liars.

I have friend who works for USAID who is currently stranded in a very precarious situation overseas. She has zero access to the US government. Her DH is actually working with another friendly government to get her out.

So kindly f off with your BS.

Care to share the details, why so secret? Surprised it's not on the news?

Not PP but if I was in a dangerous location and suddenly without government support, I would not want the details on DCUM or the news. Obviously.

Musk bootlickers think people in precarious positions in foreign countries want to announce their locations.

USAID must be a cover for intelligence work. I hope your friend and their colleagues make it out ok.

USPS. There's no point to it.

It's not a single person stranded overseas. There are at least hundreds of them.

If they're privatizing everything, they can just outsource all of this to UPS and FedEx. I'm not advocating for this, but nothing else they've done makes much sense. So might as well lay off a bunch of red-state mail carriers while you're at it.

I'm not surprised at the least they'll go after USPS. I'm more surprised at the idiot who suggested there's no point to it.

What is happening with the Small Business Administration?

Maybe all of us:

Federal layoffs ‘likely’ if too few employees choose to quit, memo says

The article only describes an email asking a portion of GSA to identify 50% of its staff for cuts. It says nothing about the entire federal workforce.

Again, any reorganization on the scale of reducing staff 50% across the board would require Congressional approval. It isn’t happening with the GOP’s narrow majorities.

Mass layoffs are coming regardless of how many people take the fork.

Yeah right. Congress is paralyzed by fear and doing nothing to stop any of this. If they want 50% across the board, it will be 50%. Sad but true!
