Not surprised. Redstone is trying to sell Paramount, and she does not want any hiccups from the FTC; therefore, this is peanuts in comparison to what she could lose. If Trump had lost there would be no settlement. |
Such a good thing that this injustice is being corrected. All of us as Americans should be upset when our collective broadcast airwaves are misappropriated for election interference purposes. Our news media—especially broadcasters—should not be in the business of running cover or making others look worse. Perhaps it is technically a permissible activity not eh part of 60 Minutes, but it is good to see CBS management take ownership for the bad acts of their employees.
So much bad will and erosion of trust happens when rogue journalists bring their agenda to news production instead of being neutral purveyors of the news. Does anybody actually morally defend 60 Minutes misleading the American public? I really thought they would have learned their lesson after Dan Rather’s hubris embarrassed them. |
By ran from you mean lied their asses off pretending they had nothing to do with Project 2025 and now we see a bunch of Project 2025 staff in the White House and Cabinet, and 2/3rds of Trump's agenda is coming verbatim from Project 2025. |
Then, pray tell, who was the "big guy?" |
They need to go after FOX and conservative outlets because they did the same and worse compared to CBS. |
Soon we'll only have State TV.
We'll only know what dear leader wants us to know and forget any warnings about food contamination or illness outbreaks. |
Since Trump can lie and defame and not be sued/countersued, I think judges should block his ability to sue and rule any judgements in his favor to be null and void.
It cannot be one-sided with only Trump having the ability to attack and sue others. |
+1 Their bias clouded their judgment and compromised their integrity. |
Where are the lawsuits against Trump, Fox, and many others? Given the Dominion Ruling and evidence it should not be hard to prove this same claim on them. |
The linked article gives no detail whatsoever about how the interview was edited to make her look better than Trump. Is it not common knowledge that interviews are edited for time and clarity? From what I have seen, she gave a very long response. Of course they only showed a portion of it, but the clip was consistent with her entire response. I guess they made her look better by showing that she can give an articulate response rather tbsn stomping off like Trump did in 2020?
Reading the comments on this thread make it very clear that people do not understand the difference between an accredited news organization and entertainment news. And that is the problem with media in this country. We need to have a very clear distinction because allowing people to choose their own reality is simply not working. Maybe every single non-accredited program needs to have a disclaimer at the beginning. Idk. |
The "tease" gave a very different response than the one that was broadcast. And, stopping her rambling was certainly helpful to her. I don't think the suit has legs, though. Except, for pointing out what CBS did. Much worse was what Lesley Stahl did in the 2020 election when she basically called Trump a liar for bringing up Hunter's laptop. |
