Are the Capitol police mad at the Republicans members?

People who voted for this have to either admit to themselves that they voted for a rapist murderer or convince themselves that it’s all made up.

It’s really hard to admit to yourself that you voted for a rapist murderer so the alternative is cognitive dissonance.

They choose cognitive dissonance.

There are some cops that are intelligent and educated and they understand how illegal and against the constitution J6 was. They are appalled. Many former military and seriously understand protecting the Constitution.

Many are not intelligent/educated, many just needed a job and are from small towns. They are very MAGA and like he said, he could shoot someone on the street and his followers won't care. Some are educated but have male identity crisis and DGAF about what he did or does. Some are just guy who were bullies in HS with inferiority complexes and are a mess.

So it's split.

Ok... I can understand being a Capitol police officer and MAGA, as in pro-Trump, anti-Dem, those are your politics. But if you were actually there on J6, being beat up by his supporters, and he just pardoned ALL of them... how are they not pissed off? I mean, I voted for Biden but I can still be pissed off at things he did!

The blanket pardon including known instigators of violence such as the Proud Boys and Oathkeepers is a way for Trump to have his own little loyal force of violent brownshirts. So when there are non-violent public protests against Trump policies, like there were during his last terms, those groups will feel free to violently attack the protesters because they will believe (rightly) that Trump will have their back. It's part of the autocracy creep . . .

I saw a Capitol Police officer on an IG story yesterday that said he was so distraught that 6 people who attacked him were now free. He said that the first death threat he got was while he was giving testimony and it hasn't stopped. It was heartbreaking and maddening.

BTW, I was in a NYC taxi yesterday and there was a sign saying that it was up to a 25-year sentence to attack a driver. I thought how sad it was that you would get more jail time in this country for attacking a taxi driver than a police officer.

Because they have to admit that they voted for that and they can’t. So they listened all the propaganda to help justified in their brain and they’ve told themselves that J6 the Black Lives Matter protests are exactly the same.

They have convinced themselves that it was a protest, not a riot.

Even though everybody who supports Black Lives Matter, also supported the arrest of anybody that was violent or committed crimes. But they tell themselves that the Democrats let people riot in the streets and didn’t arrest any of those people. They lied to themselves to justify their vote. Because the alternative is too much to live with.

I'm confused by this new boot-licking Democratic party.

Um, just generally supporting the justice system is a really, really long way from “boot licking.” I mean seriously, reverse the parties here and think about how you would react. It doesn’t bother you at all???

I’m wondering why law enforcement across the country hasn’t launched a mutiny against Trump

There are over a million cops in the USA. Many local cops are MAGA and don't see Federal LEOs as their brothers.

The capitol police and DC police are pretty local. Honestly I thought I was beyond being shocked but I really thought Republicans would keep him from pardoning the ones that used direct violence against cops. But they just rolled right over.

If no institution is going to bother standing up against Trump, not even the purported opposition party - the Democratic Party, then why should less powerful people put their livelihoods on the line?

"But they just rolled over" will be a great chapter title in a history book about the USA some day.

I think it’s safe to say the Capitol Police will be less inclined to peaceable solutions the next time a bunch of GOP goons raids the Capitol. More Ashli Babbit’s for sure.

Nobody in DC actually supports the justice system though. You can find "ACAB" graffiti pretty much anywhere in the city. This is the 14th chance capital of the world for aspiring rappers. The city put a cop in jail because some doofus didn't know how to ride.

But a cop stands up to a MAGA granny, and suddenly you polish their boots with your tongue.

This is a really stupid argument. You should really be concerned if you can’t bring yourself to disagree with Trump on this obvious betrayal of your purported values.

Believe it or not, I don't actually support Trump. I just think these people got a raw deal given how the city treats real criminals. Also, believe police should be viewed with skepticism at all times. The situational boot-licking is really distasteful.

Say it with me: ACAB also applies to Capitol police.

Not that they won’t just keep doing their jobs, I know they will. But am I overestimating how much it would impact personal relationships?

Fact 141 members of the capital police were hurt that day. They stopped women of Congress from being raped. They stopped pence from being killed there were gallows for gods sake

Republicans are Unamerican criminals there is no Republican Party it is the party of Nazi loving Musk who sat in the front row installing himself .

Trump was question about pardoning the violent J6ers. He said that the injuries on the police officers were minor. Minor!
