So are the red “moocher” states of MAGA inbred imbeciles. Net detractors from the Federal budget.

Good grief. Who can even listen to your rankings. You are unhinged. You are the problem. No reasonable person cares what you actually think when you behave this way, except for those who are also unhinged.

DP no those social red states need to provide for themselves. The days of free hands outs and building highways for you all is over.

At a minimum, I think a temporary pause is a good idea. There are numerous examples of where people were not properly vetted for national security threats. The process need to be more rigorous before admitting anymore refugees.... "At the time of the evaluation, NGIC identified as many as 50 Afghan evacuees in the United States who could pose potential security concerns based on the DoD data" This OIG report only looks through 2022, how many other people did the US miss that were admitted after 2022.

Hey, I think Biden/Harris were awful and the border was uncontrolled chaos and they really messed things up, letting in millions via parole, TPS, fake asylum seekers and creating an absolute disaster, making our country’s laws a joke. Biden/Harris deserved to lose due to these unforced errors.

However, these Afghans are most likely bona fide refugees, whose lives really are in danger, especially if they are female.

We need good leadership to limit immigration to those who can pay their own way and preserve resources for those who are vetted, verified refugees. We didn’t have that in Biden and we aren’t going to get it under Trump. I hope I’m wrong and that in a few months we can start letting in true refugees again.

I help settle Afghan families and they are on no one's dime. We work with them to find jobs, housing, clothes and furniture. These are families with small children we are talking about.

But I guess I needn't try to appeal to MAGA using things like humanity and Christian values, since they clearly have none.

Agree. I believe and hope this is temporary while Trump puts in some additional security protocols for this program and hopefully we can get these flights for the Afghans back on track soon.

I have also worked with an Afghan refugee and most of these comments are off base.
The refugee I worked with was shot at on the way to the airport to leave. Can you imagine trying to do that with young kids? He was also at risk of being killed because he worked with the US government, while his kids and wife presumably weren’t. It made the most sense to send the husband first to establish and he expected to bring his family over (which he made no progress on even before Trump…it is an incredibly difficult process). I hope that you understand they just can’t go back to Afghanistan as they will be killed. And he gets absolutely nothing from the US government after the first 12 months. They must show financial independents part of the process.

He’s at risk of being killed but would leave his wife and child behind? Don’t you see how people could reasonably be skeptical?

I am genuinely asking: why were there no women in the pictures of the previous escapes? It was all men of fighting age.

Afghanistan is paradise, specifically for women and children!

Exactly why a second look is warranted.

Oh those people are going back home. Thanks Trump!

You are such a hypocrite.

Did you ever wonder if he might have been telling you a story to gain your sympathy? Ever heard of taqqiyah?
What kind of coward leaves their wife and children at risk of death while they enjoy a cozy apartment in the US? Food and clothing delivered by the local purple-haired ladies club.

Their lives here are not good. Please do yourself a favor and stop talking about that which you don’t know.
You would not try to flee with kids who slow down the process while being shot at. It’s easy to hide behind your computer screen and talk big.

Prepare to be canceled for speaking the truth.

If it can be shown that a significant majority are women or young children, I will agree this is not good. But a bunch of men who support what the Taliban is doing to women? No thank you.

Spoiler alert: they won’t be women and young children.

If they were Taliban, why would they have worked with the US military?

I’m not the PP but it is precisely because my family originally came to the US as war refugees being shot at that I am somewhat skeptical. What I know of the refugees from Afghanistan (and particularly how single-male-dominated that group is) does not match with either my family’s personal experience or those of other refugees I know.

It is possible there are circumstances we do not understand, but being a little skeptical of what we are seeing, given how different the character is compared to other refugee resettlement programs, is not knee-jerk MAGA.
