BS PowerPoint decks, fire drills when sales are lagging. I spend most of my time making presentations to show management our strategy and results, vs doing actual marketing work.

For 300k? That is crazy

I work in marketing for a large global company and am expected to work 60-70 hour weeks and be on call 24/7 with little flexibility. It was much better after the pandemic but over the past year things have crept back to pre-pandemic levels and the workload has become unbearable.

Looking at friends, they either have similar grueling jobs and make a lot of money, or make like $150K and have an easier true 9-5 job with tons of flexibility.

But according to DCUM many people here make over $250K and work 40 hours per week, mostly from home/tons of flexibility. So what exactly is your job if this is the case?

In house counsel at a pharma company. Make around $400k. 35 hrs a week, in office 2 days a week. Some limited travel.

250K is no longer what it used to be. As recently as 2010 that was a big job leading a big team of people. Today it is someone in a cube working from home 2-3 days a week.

Money is money.
If picking up trash pays 600k, I’d quit my 300k bank job to pick up trash.
