When HS decisions coming out?

So if it is early February, why do they have to update Jan 31st instead of making kids and parents anxious every now and then ?
Anonymous
Because there's no accountability nor a culture of customer service and they don't give a darn about families and students' concerns. In their mind the decision is the same on February 2nd as it would be on January 24th and it doesn't matter how long it takes MCPS to decide to get off its ass and share the results.

Bummer, that's disappointing. It seemed like it was almost certainly today.

This is frustrating and stressful

Seriously, I know these results are highly anticipated by parents and students, but given the large number of programs it makes sense there is likely quite a bit of coordination to get these results out. The closures and delays this month likely impacted this too.

College results are similar - stop over at the college forum to see all the messages about when results are shared. Colleges typically share a timeframe, not an exact date/time.

I’m sure they will be shared as soon as possible. It’s not a conspiracy theory or attempt to make you suffer- and it’s not 1/27 yet which is when they stated you should be concerned if you haven’t heard results.

Patience. All this anger and finger pointing helps no one, especially not your kids,

The frustration is because they have now switched 1/27 to 1/31, and some say that even that is too optimistic.

Sure, it's a momentary frustration, but the in grand scheme a week doesn't make any difference.

All they have to do is underpromise and overdeliver. If they think they can get them out by 1/24 as they initially said, they should have said 1/31 and then had a caveat of "Should there be weather-related closures, this deadline will be moved accordingly." Then if they get them out by 1/31 or whatever date they look like heros. Instead they say they'll do it by x date and then they delay it by updating a FAQ and then the people in the office aren't even standing by that. It's just inconsistent and sloppy messaging per usual.

And yet we are allowed to be frustrated even by small things. You are not the arbiter here.

is there a gender-based cutoff (my kid said their friends mentioned it)? Is 290 enough to get selected in Poolsville?

I am sure PP has never been upset about anything other than, maybe, terminal illness, tragic accidents, wars or similar.

It is partially true because demographics show exactly 50% - 50 % male and female.

Anonymous wrote:FAQ is updated today:
Results will be communicated to parents/students in late January by email and through ParentVUE. If you have not received your results by January 31, 2025 in ParentVUE, send an email to DCCAPS@mcpsmd.org or contact a team member at 240-740-7800. If you need a ParentVUE account activated, contact your student’s school.

So no results today presumably.

This is ridiculous. Changing the date on the date that people expected to hear results doesn't instill trust in the system.

They changed the date on the Friday before the previously advertised Monday.

They probably wanted to finish by today, ahead of the final weekend, but they didn't finish (maybe snow related), so they bumped the date 1 week to get breathing room, and they expect to finish within a week.
