Anyone heard of going to South Korea for cosmetic procedures?

I was in Seoul for a week walking around and taking the subway. I thought most people had very young looking skin and looked mostly attractive. I didn't notice any strange looking post plastic surgery people. I did notice a lot of the same look. I visited Tokyo after that and realized how uniform people looked in Seoul, and I assume everyone has had plastic surgery. But no freaky looking people.

I've heard similar stories from people who frequent Seoul and Tokyo! That people in Tokyo look varied (some good looking, some obviously not, like any populace I guess) versus many young people in Seoul looking similar to each other, especially their side profiles (nose job I assume?). Interesting observation.

Japanese people are quite diverse in their looks in my opinion! I don’t know enough Koreans to compare.

That would be my concern too. I'd absolutely do a breast lift or tummy tuck however for face, big nope.

I’ve read up on some of this stuff on PlasticSurgery on Reddit. Basically it sounds like the big clinics are used to operating on Western faces, but smaller clinics may not be. Most Westerners getting facial PS in Korea are Russian. Most Westerners looking abroad for facial PS (as opposed to body procedures like breast implants or BBL’s) and especially nose jobs go to Turkey instead, but Turkish surgeons favor a certain kind of upturned, “Barbie”-type nose that doesn’t work for everyone. People who have posted about successful “ethnic rhinoplasty” usually seem to get it in the US, Canada, or Western Europe if they are European. Also in reading Reddit for awhile, if you want to stay in the US for your surgery it seems that surgeons in Texas are cheaper than in the Northeast.

I personally would not go to Korea for surgery. So many of the people over there look odd after multiple surgeries, they look more like anime characters than people with the overly large eyes, super pale skin, and changed jawlines and noses. I just find it very creepy.

Yes, they look strange. The Korean idea of what looks good is very different from the western one, which is why many kpop bands look strange

Yes, definitely a different type of "beauty" exists there versus in the west (especially for males - wtf with all the make up??)
I'd only get skin treatments if I were OP.

A lot of American men could use a little make-up.

No thank you, just look at that botched nose job one of the Housewives had in Turkey. And she's married to a plastic surgeon who refused to give her a nose job so she traveled to turkey to get one. Even she says it was a big mistake and she wished she had not gone.

Nail tech had her face lift done in Vietnam .. looks good.

Good friend went to the DR for a BBL - had some issues.
