Because occasionally, it might behoove all of us to spend a couple hours thinking about the history and values of the country we live in, and the people who have been a significant part of that. And because shared experiences are memorable and often meaningful. Those of us in the DC area are lucky to have many opportunities to do things that most Americans never will.

You can choose to try and understand that, or not.
