Can or will the WCAC ever do anything about off season contact with coaches?

Anonymous
From Bishop McNamara’s AD Handbook:

“WCAC coaches may coach a team out of season as long as the team roster is limited to fifty (50) percent of his/her school players of what would constitute a starting number of that sport.”

Is MH complying with this rule?

Yes

Easy way to confirm: Teams playing GC in the STJ league can make a list of the players on GC’s sidelines when the HC is coaching. Shouldn’t be hard to do since players all know each other from the club circuit. If more than six from GC’s STJ team start when the official WCAC season begins (or were starters last year), contact WCAC Commissioner Dwayne Foster.

People brought this issue up last winter, as well as the winter before. For those new, or have forgotten, or those still jelly of GC's recent WCAC dominance -

WCAC allows coaches to coach 10 hours a week in offseason and that includes league games.

Was unaware of the 50 percent starter rule. That should be easy for teams to check with they play GC off season.

This would not be tolerated and is against the rules in almost every competitive league in the country. When will the WCAC see this is a negative and take a look at how his selective invites to his MS recruiting while using the WCAC name to bring players in. Meanwhile he only invited one school from the WCAC to join which was PVI. The reason why only PVI was invited is only because that’s the one WCAC school he is not concerned about losing a recruit to because they are so far out. If the WCAC allows this to continue unchecked it will lead t on one of two things OLGC leaving the WCAC or the girls side of the WCAC just becoming a race for second place every season. My take if you are going to use the WCAC name the least you could do is invite all the shops or is it just fear he won’t be able to continue to collect players when they learn they would be able to attend another WCAC school and have a chance to play Varsity before there senior year.

I can’t take this whining post seriously as you consistently use “there” instead of “their.” If your daughter’s grammar is just as bad, she won’t be getting into a private school anyway.

NOTHING worse then when the grammar police show up in a sports thread... so insufferable!

That is exactly what happens when they can not back up what you say you deflect. Answer this if this continues and what OLGC is doing is not checked how long do you think they stay in a league that for them is no longer competitive? Especially when that hinders the ability to end with that #1. This is bad for the WCAC 100% if you can’t see it either one of two things you support OLGC because you DD goes there or you are just ignorant and don’t understand.

Again, the WCAC thinks athletic recruiting, athletic scholarships and more coach involvement during the off season is a good thing.

Could you quote the rule that says you can't have off season contact or coaching in the offseason for those that are not in your school? Because it really sounds like they actually do have rules about it (to answer your thread question), thus have done something about it. You just don't like the rules.
