Can or will the WCAC ever do anything about off season contact with coaches?

The St James is a private company and if a team did not get enough players, they often combine teams. Many public schools bring it 8th graders as well. If you are upset by this, you have a long road ahead in this sport.

Not an OLGC booster. In the WCAC, looking up at the program that MH has built like everyone else.

That said, I don't see the issue. Having 8th graders playing with one or more of the 4 OLGC teams in The St. James Winter League is a smart idea when trying to recruit good players into the program. These are not commits; they can still go elsewhere when they get admissions decisions later this Spring. Fact is, WCAC rules apply to all schools in the conference and other programs could do the same. OLGC just playing the game harder and the results are commensurate with that effort. Talk to your coach or AD about getting in to the fray. No need to complain about a program outworking yours.

I don't hear Stone Ridge complaining. A lot of the folks not the ISL/WCAC thread think that Stone Ridge will overtake them as the top team in the DC metro area this year.

The WCAC encourages it. They don't see it as a negative.

You are hilarious. You literally posted a question. A factual answer was provided and your response is "just stay quiet." No I am not familiar with the OLGC middle school lacrosse team. However, I do know that teams playing in a winter league often have lots of players play for them. Also, all of the teams in the WCAC recruit players via club teams and have for a long time. It is far more prevalent in baseball and basketball by the way. Boys lax coaches at PVI for example were criticized for not recruiting enough. SJC is the best at this and has done well as a result. The IAC teams do the same. If you want to complain about this issue you will have a long road ahead. As far as an answer to the question you posted: NO they will not do anything about off season contact with players and coaches.

They will. SR already has an impressive middle school pipeline. There should be a battle of unsanctioned OLGC vs SR middle school teams. Live stream it, ppv of course.

This is common for the boys lacrosse programs in that conference.

PVI entered a team of mostly 8th graders in the JV VEL league this fall.

Forming teams of potential applicants is not innovative, and viewed by many as a feature of the recruitment process and not a bug. Ymmv.
