This is why Trump won. I also think this guy should be deported.

Shouldn't he be deported after the trial and/or after serving his sentence?

ICE doesn't need a "judicial warrant" to detain someone for violating immigration laws. That's just what Fairfax says when they release someone to absolve themselves of responsibility

You might begin by avoiding misleading terms like “immigrants,” and instead make the important distinction between legal immigrants and illegal immigrants.

Legal immigrants enter with a visa through a port of entry and depart prior to the expiration of the visa.

Illegal immigrants sneak over the border or overstay their visa, or commit removable crimes here.

The distinction matters.

I’m a lifelong Dem and an immigrant. Of course he should be deported or extradited to be imprisoned in Honduras. There are so many more deserving immigrants who don’t do despicable things.

+1000 SAME. The things democrats are doing these days its like they're going out of their way to F crap up.

Fighting tooth and nail for an open border encouraging Latinos to come here, telling them it’s totally ok to come illegally, then stay illegally, don’t cooperate with ICE for those arrested, for all the wrong reasons, set offenders loose, and finally those who do get citizenship then perpetually vote Republican!

My wife immigrated to the U.S. legally and had to wait, navigate the US immigration system, deal with all the delays, etc.

It is personally offensive that the biden administration followed all the radical leftists pushing destructive, naive theories such as “open borders” and actively resisting our immigration laws.

If you have a sign on your lawn saying “no human being is illegal,” yes, I am talking to you.

This is a valid question. Compare to the thread about the au pair who helped murder the mom. Everyone is upset she cut a deal where she will be deported after testifying against the dad, so she’ll only serve a year or two. If you were raped by someone, would you be upset if they were just deported without serving any time?

The issue is he isn't serving a sentence or going to trial for a long time (if at all in Fairfax) and is just being released to the streets. Deportation is probably preferable to constantly endangering the public.

There are people worth executing, imho. And this guy is it.

And I agree with you about not deporting non-violent illegal immigrants. For the most part, the undocumented just want a better life, and contribute a lot to the function of our country.

But repeat violent offenders? This guy is just going to come back if we deport him. These are the people I would support capital punishment for, no question.

There seems like a middle ground like paying Honduras to lock him up in a Honduran prison. According to the State Department and Amnesty International, Honduran prisons seem much more appropriate than a prison here

We should revive this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rwanda_asylum_plan I doubt he'll be able to find his way from Rwanda back to Fairfax. Better yet, lease facilities on Nauru like the Australians

The highlight:

After arriving in Fairfax County from Honduras in about 2013 and working in the construction industry, Navarette Romero has faced 29 run-ins with area law enforcement officials, according to court records and law enforcement officials, including charges of indecent exposure, assault, and now rape, getting out jail each time.

He’s currently awaiting rape charges and the Fairfax BOS is still not wanting to cooperate with ICE (despite the fact he could have already been deported before he committed many of these offenses). But this is exactly who we should all be agreeing should be deported. This sex offender adds nothing to our community and of course it’s often women who are the victims of these perps so I guess we are just like ehhh about indecent exposure and rape?

This is also the exact type of stupid thing that gets picked up in a headline and becomes fodder for the right to use showing we care more about dangerous immigrants’ rights than we do the safety of our other residents.

Um. Consider the source. Fairfax Times? Really????????

Talk about your right-wing propaganda

Is this better? And they say they don’t want to deport him because he may just come back and commit more crimes.

But we are then releasing him where he … goes out and commits more crimes. 🤨 I’d rather take our chances on sending him back to Honduras than repeatedly back out on the streets of Fairfax County. And if the feds know and haven’t gotten rid of them, then they’re at fault in this too.

Fairfax County booking procedures exclude a 48 hour period for ICE
https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/sheriff/sites/sheriff/files/Assets/Documents/SOP%20526%20BOOKING%20DESK_0.pdf

VA budget amendment would include at least 48 hours notice pre release for any illegal immigrant accused of a crime.
What can happen currently in Fairfax County appears to be that the release process timing is a problem - arrested 2/22/24 and out same day - https://www.wric.com/news/virginia-news/migrant-charged-with-child-sex-crimes-in-virginia-released-twice-before-ice-arrest/

The article also says Fairfax has specifically made local policy to not cooperate with ICE by pretending they can't honor immigration detainers. They marketed this as protecting people from being deported over littering charges but instead they release people charged with sexual assault back into the community then brag about protecting them from deportation.

Ah well, obviously nothing can be done. Looks like this guy discovered fool proof plan to commit crimes with impunity and we cannot do anything about it unless we make him a citizen. Check mate.

We should designate him a terrorist and execute him. Without all the expensive pre-execution appeals required for American citizens to protect our rights because he’s not actually a citizen. Just do it.
