Because they didn’t want to ED somewhere and commit early in year. Plenty of kids change throughout senior, plenty at this level chasing major scholarship. All that amounts to keeping options open. |

They do take others. I know some high level science kids that were admitted for those achievements. |

we had one of these at our HS. double legacy, which apparently helps during SCEA and not RD. so try to bank that. kid preferred MIT |

It is sad but i would just keep your college plans to yourself if your student is going to Harvard or another institution like it. Not really anything to be gained by sharing it but getting some negative comments. For people that would appreciate it and be encouraging to your student, just discuss it verbally. |

Just admit the competition is national or OOSers wouldn't be here irritating you. If you only care about your immediate school or its closest competitors you don't even need DCUM. You can just review the spring Instagram links. |
