Geez, you all really hate Brooks. It was the one baseball name (Brooks Robinson) I was willing to entertain. DH is a die-hard Orioles fan, and there was no way I was naming my child Cal.

I have a George which was adorable as a baby, and now that he's a handsome tween, he carries it so well. He loves his name because he's the only one he knows.

What sounds good with your last name? There is one theory that having at least one repeating sound between the names (doesn't have to be the first) is related to greater name favorability in public ratings.
