It’s so sad they don’t just ask you, the man with all the easy answers.

Yep. Blew the entire surplus Hogan left us in a year. A YEAR.

Wes Moore wasted all of the money literally months after taking the oath of office.

What was it spent on? The governor sets the budget not the state assembly?

$1 billion on education, half of which goes to Baltimore (most of which goes to teacher salary increases and pensions). $500 million for Baltimore Red Line and WMATA (without demanding concessions from WMATA). $400 million on raises and bonuses for state employees. $200 million on expanding the EITC. And on and on and on.

I don’t see a problem with any of that. Why should we not staff and pay our state employees? Why should we not fund education and transportation?

Sure. All spending is reasonable until you’re broke. Same thing applies to your household budget.

Setting priorities and saying no is a big part of leadership, which is sorely lacking in Maryland.

Hogan didn’t solve the problem though he just understaffed positions and left us all holding the bag.

I have not noticed any improvement in state services since Moore has become governor. In fact, as far as I can tell, state services have gotten worse. Went to DMV recently and it was an absolutely mess.

Get me out of this state. How did they vote for this clown and nobody even knows him. He appeared from nowhere.

Then raise the money. The government needs employees to function properly. Not staffing entire departments is not a good thing. Making existing employees juggle impossible work loads just because you are making a political point is not hood management. It’s just a political stunt that screws the people out of services that they are paying taxes for. Why are you not pissed off at Hogan for harming the work of departments that you are paying taxes for?

Moore can’t just instantly fix years long backlogs of understaffing caused by his predecessor. Be honest. Even once staffing is fixed it will actually take time for the new hires to show progress on their work. Have you ever worked in a dysfunctional company? How easy is it yo be effective under such conditions?

We can thank Eric Luedtke and his billion dollar blank check unfunded boondoggle of a Blueprint.

Don't forget his partner in that effort, Nancy King. The dems are breaking the bank here.

Because I don’t see anything better and now we’re broke

Another example of why Virginia is the future, which is primarily a result of poor governance in Maryland and DC.

Spoken like an idiot dem. Clearly, more regulations, taxes, and govt pensions will grow the economy.

Translate: "please cut regulations so companies can exploit people and cut ties so that I pay fewer taxes and get rid of woke/trans/DEI because I hate people involved in that and don't give people retirement plans because that hurts my investments"

What companies? The government is the largest employer by far. The vast majority of private sector employment is in consumer services, eg retail and restaurants. The state of Maryland does not make anything. It does not produce anything. It does not create added value in anything. Furthermore, after spending enough time around Maryland politics, what I have sadly learned is that more taxes do not translate into more and better services. Higher taxes principally just go to pay increases for government workers. So it we end up paying more the same.
