I'm the one with the broken microwave and food processor. Yes, it's funny. I think it's funny (these events happened a few years ago), so don't feel bad for laughing.

Sadly, I've got more stories just like that. Fortunately, he is usually quite handy and has done stuff like finish our basement and bathroom himself, so I'm coming out ahead.

I had a little Plymouth Horizon when I was in college years ago. I was always impatient and would throw it into gear as soon as I started my car. I didn't realize I was actually forcing it, but if I attempted to put it into gear without waiting 15 seconds or so after I started the car, there would be some tension as I pushed the lever into reverse or drive. If I just waited a few seconds, it would slide smoothly. Anyway, after about two years of this constant mistreatment, the transmission died. Repair was more costly than the car was worth. Important lesson learned.

This is my DH all the way. He wants to be all "DIY" but has no actual skill or patience. Over the years he has agreed to just hire people.
