I’m ugly

I have an autoimmune disease that seems to defy whatever fitness I have by bulking parts of my body in unfortunate ways (broad hulking back, ever-growing breasts) that photograph terribly. And fashion shifted a bit so the expensive tailored clothes I planned to wear at this age don’t exist for my body type and don’t suit my career or lifestyle now anyway.

I avoid formal events and posed photographs because they do me no favors. I stick to casual outdoor socializing that’s active and doesn’t incite tons of photos.

I am curious what autoimmune disorder this is. I have also always had a very broad back and big breasts and look like a linebacker in pictures! I have an autoimmune disorder as well but have never heard of this feature so wondering what it is.

It isn’t you, it’s the way the iPhone lens compresses you. Look at all the people here saying they hate pictures of themselves. A lot of people who look good in real life aren’t photogenic! Don’t go by the pictures.

Thanks. No wonder the teens are obsessed with taking pictures and the right angles. Heck- adults I know are obsessed with the perfect shot. I think more traditional pictures taken a little further out look better but these closer up ones just look terrible!

I'm not ugly but I'm short and fat with very large breasts. I'm 54 but I have lovely white teeth, a great pretty much wrinkle free complexion due to my fatness, and lovely blondish reddish hair. No matter what I do, I'm short and round. It's my cross to bear.

No it doesn’t.

Please don't say this. Nobody should be told to smile.

I have been ugly my whole life. You will just have to get used to it. It will be ok.

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s the really rare person who is photogenic. And I’m definitely not one of them. And so I try not to judge myself too harshly by my appearance in photos. That’s not to say I’m always successful, believe me.

Several posters in the thread discussing whether Kamala Harris is attractive or not pointed out that she is very photogenic. And I thought, exactly. I personally think she’s very attractive but even if I didn’t it would be hard to deny that she looks fantastic in photos.

Rant over.

Make some yogurt with L. Reuteri. It will restore youthfulness to your facial skin and muscle tone.

Just keep in mind OP….

Even just the word Ugly is very subjective in itself.

And I used to be ugly as an adolescent but my looks have improved tenfold into adulthood.

Some people do not blossom until later on in life…..

I have always been objectively ugly. Large asymmetrical nose, not a very pretty face shape. But I have pretty eyes and hair and a cute petite body.

I stay trim and exercise and eat healthily. I wear nice expensive clothes.

I have never had any problem related to my looks in life.

I would love to have lovely teeth. My teeth are my cross to bear.

Me, too, OP. It sucks. I miss being hot.

I got braces at 37! They were off after 2 years!

Of course, my face is still showing my age and I've only managed to lose 5 of my 15 post-baby and covid pounds. So the teeth only go so far. But I definitely feel less ugly than I did WITH braces.

I’m the PP who hates my teeth. I’ve been improving my skin care routine, but I know my teeth ages me more than my skin at this point. Looking into Invisalign and other options.
