The short answer is that you might see some players moving away from MEVC. I know of one MEVC player who will stop playing club to focus on academics. The dream of many MEVC players is to make it into MVSA. We see them in MVSA clinics all the time. Last year, the MVSA rec league provided almost half of the players who made the roster of the MEVC 13s and 14s. I bet some of them will be trying out for MVSA, but it is not clear how many will make it. I would assume that they will also try out for MEVC as their safe option. If the cost is a concern (MEVC reached the same price point as MOCO), some may migrate to Platform (they kept their prices close to those they charged last season). If I was willing to pay the MEVC fees, I would also consider trying out for MOCO. |
No question he’s a good coach, but Winchester is not really practical from much of the DMV. And Blue Ridge is better established and attracts most of the best players who live out that way. |
