Sorry For The Beck Thing

Anonymous
Glenn Beck and his followers are more than a nuisance. Does anybody understand how vulnerable this country is at this period in time? Hitler came to power by the narrowest of margins when Germans were suffering from a very weak economy.

It can start off as a small wave and end up as a tidal wave flooding the country with anti-anything that is non-white, non-American, non-native born, ...

In this country "Freedom of Speech" is a guaranteed Constitutional right even if you don't like what is being said. Glen Beck, et. al, have as much right to speak and assemble as do MLK group. Shame on you for wanting to take away someone else's rights by trying to be so damn politically correct.

Classic teabagger Constitutional misunderstanding, BTW. "Freedom of Speech" does not mean "Freedom From Ridicule" You have the right to hold mass white power rallies to "Take Civil Rights Back" and "Restore Honor". We have the right to point at you and laugh.

I don't assume all muslims are terrorists, or all blonds are dumb, or all white people are glenn beck supporters. I assume others see that support for political issues is not linked to the color of one's skin or religion or hair color any other distinguishing characteristic.
I reread my post and nowhere do I see the word "apology". I am not apologizing for Bech because there is no need to do so. He and his supporters have the same right toassemble as the supporters of MLK's "I Have A Dream Speech." I think MLK would also have supported Becj's right to speak and his supporters to assemble because he was for "Equality" not "Special Treatment."
Huh??? Apology is the 7th word of the post and Sorry is the first word of the title. It sure sounded like an apology to me.

My post in in italics and as I count the 7th word is "is" and, again, the word "apology" does not appear. There is nothing in my post that sounds even remotely apologetic because there is nothing to apologize for becaue Beck, Palin, Sharpton, and you have have guananteed free speech. It does help if one actually knows to which post one is responding. Otherwise, it makes the responder look like a fool.
Hey, it seems pretty obvious that you're talking about two different posts. Drop it already.

And a bit of proof-reading might help.

We are laughing our way to the polls this year.

Obviously, folks have the right to peacefully assemble, but the place and time chosen for this event is pretty disgusting, and gratuitously provocative. So to my neighbors of all races, I'd just like to apologize for the white folk who make us all look like we're living in 1964 Alabama.

What the hell are you talking about? Clearly the poster recognizes their right. On the other hand, the poster has every right to say what she thinks of them. So it is you who are attacking OP's right to speech. Do you not get that?

Damage is already done, buddy. No way in Hell ACA will ever be repealed, just as there's no way in Hell Medicare or Social Security will ever be repealed. It's political poison. So you'll basically elect your traditional set of clowns, and there'll be nothing but gridlock for another two years--aside from ridiculous partisan investigations which will lower the GOP's numbers. Only difference is that Boehner's going to be holding the gavel and getting the blame. Assuming the GOP takes the House, it'll be the Gingrich House all over again.

So, yes, we'll still be laughing at you.

You have limited understanding of politics, don't you? Bad laws, bad governing by Congress, and we all suffer.

This response is completely content-free. You may as well just bray, "Nay! Nay!"

Do you get your political information from watching Glen Beck while listening to Sean Hannity audio books?

Whew it is 3:00 only 1 more hour until all these people on this thread start watching Oprah

If you're concerned about Beck, read about David and Charles Koch. Now it's making sense, scary sense.

True, but Hitler came from the left.

I love gridlock. It's unchecked moves to power which I find disturbing.

Hitler came from the left. Left of what? Hitler was from Austria and if you look at a map of the world, from the Artic, then I suppose one might think Austria is to the left of Germany.

The Glen Beck rally is over. It is history. Get over it.

It doesn't end with the rally, just like Sarah Palin didn't end with the 2008 elections. I think this was a test from the right. It's like dropping something small into a placid lake and seeing how far out the ripples will go. The far right is playing with fire ... driving a wedge between cultures, ethnicities, and religions.

Does anybody ever wonder how people could live with their neighbors for years, decades, even centuries... then almost overnight, they're killing each other over ethnicity, past slights? I'm thinking of Rwanda, Yugoslavia ... but then you are probably thinking, that happened over there. WE are DIFFERENT. We aren't that different.
