What day is trick or treating this year?

You will survive.

Actually I think trick or treating should happen at 9am on December 25th….

If you're not trolling you really need to relax. Kids go to school on 11/1 but it's even less of a school day than usual. The kids are all tired, sugared, and want to tell stories all day. And eat and trade candy. Learning is even less of a priority for them than usual. It's one day. Get over it.

Our school district decided they would observe Diwali this year on 1 November, so it’s not a school night. Score one for multiculturalism.

OMG. The number of people taking this post seriously. WTF?

I snort-laughed!

It's always on the 31st in this country.

You do that and be prepared for a lot of disappointed children.

If someone rings my doorbell on November 1 expecting candy they will not get a positive reaction. Just let kids be kids.

Why, because you'll be sick from gorging on all the leftover candy from Oct 31?

Uh, 4-6 is not “late”

You randomly knocked on people’s doors on a non-Halloween day because it was more convenient for you? That’s honestly so freakin weird.

4-6 isn’t even sundown. Too early even on Halloween. 6 is the earliest anyone should be out trick or treating. Give me a minute to get off of work and make dinner before you start showing up at my house please

Agreed and I'm the parent of a kid who is done after an hour of walking around the neighborhood. We are usually home by 730 because he asks to go home.

FCPS is doing Halloween right this year - early release on the 31st and no school on November 1st! The kids are going to have an amazing time.

Fine? As in, people will understand what's going on and give your children candy?

No.
