Shrinkflation in Halloween candy is insane

Get generic stuff from overseas, or hand out less candy, or something different.

Please explain how government controlling the means of production caused the phenomenon OP describes?

And which of Trump’s policies, specifically is responsible? You do realize inflation was a hangover from Trump’s mismanagement of the economy, right? So which policy was it that Trump pursued that caused this socialism?

Genuinely curious.

This is a terrible thing. I don't care about the size but the substitute for butterfat and the wasteful packaging are disgusting.

The FDA should be more on top of this stuff. Just because it's not immediately toxic does not mean it should be in food.

It's like adding sawdust to bread up until people notice it's not really bread any longer

Why do we have a holiday dedicated to poisoning children? And why do my kids constantly come home from school with candy?

This candy culture is insane.

It should be less expensive though

Bah humbug, pp? So as a kid you never had candy? Didn't like Halloween,

My kid brought a "bite size" snickers home from a party and it was much smaller than I remembered them being (though I don't eat them often and was questioning my own memories of the things). It tracks with the higher prices/smaller portions of basically everything else, but...

Feels cheap. Especially when it's not even real chocolate anyway, it's PGPR and/or other chemical crap.

What’s PGPR?

It wasn’t so bad before when it was better-quality chocolate. Now it truly does taste meh. I’m not even tempted

Yet, at the rest stop gas stations, I see mostly king sized bars; finding a regular sized candy bar can be challenging.

Trump needs to fix it

He added 7.8 trillion dollars to the national debt the first go-around. This time he wants to hike prices on everything, because of his tariffs.

Oh, and he's full-on Nazi now. He said immigrants are poisoning the blood of our country, that they have bad genes, and that his (white) audience at his rallies have good genes. He has talked about creating concentration camps to round up immigrants.

If you think Trump can fix this country, YOU ARE A NAZI.

You have lost it. Please get help.

The people who call trump a Nazi are so ignorant. You might want to look it up see what it means, then tell me how Kamala exactly made it onto the ballot. hhhmmmm. Food for thought.

Don't even try. Trump voters are Nazis now, because Trump this week and last week went full-on Nazi at his rallies. Now you have no excuse. It's not like he's hiding it. If you don't want to support policies you disagree with, you can sit this election out.

Also, your fault for injecting politics into a candy debate. You will always get taken up on it.

I think I'm going to not buy any candy this year, or buy it after Halloween to get the sales.

+1

This is sadly true. 🍭🍫🍬

There should be a law that they can't do shrinkflation on actual food that is good for you or a necessity. It's one thing if it's junk. I can make my own reese's cups.

People have less fun these days so they made the Fun Size smaller

You wouldn't understand if I did.

Counter PSA: hard candy that you suck on for a while is much worse for your teeth. Dentists hate those (and LaffyTaffy, Airheads, etc.). Better to eat some chocolate.

Bananas are even worse for your teeth than candy. Hoh-hum.
