I walk my son to school. There's a bus, or I could drive him but we love looking at the animals on our walk and watching the seasons change. |
Yes! Sunday night ritual is a hot shower then getting in my freshly changed bed with crisp percale sheets. |
During the pandemic, I needed a small luxury and started buying my spices at Penzeys. There are some terrific blends we love, putting their Vietnamese cinnamon in my coffee makes my day start beautifully, and my teenage sons enjoy experimenting when they cook.
Pure joy all the way around! |
I don't know what's more depressing. That you're this jaded, or so hung up in your projections that you can't even see it, thus condemning yourself to keep it. PP has an excellent grasp on the luxuries of life, which you're probably equally exposed to, you just don't see them. That's fscking tragic. What a miserable life! |
A pretty journal and good pens for my morning pages, coffee or tea (the luxury of choice) in a handmade mug, fresh fruit, herbs, or veggies from my garden, puppy and cat snuggles, comfy clothes (and the luxury of not giving a single eff what other people think of my sartorial choices), snacks in the pantry, bath products that smell great and huge, fluffy body sheets to dry off in, lighting choices (including a bunch of candles), handknit shawls and thick, wool socks, good chocolate...
Beyond the tangible things: my health and mobility and a sense of humor |
Being clean in clean sheets is the best! |
love this |
I'm gonna guess you don't use a washcloth either ![]() |
This is the ultimate self care. Feels so good! |
Cashmere blanket for the couch
Shampoo and conditioner and bodywash from my favorite hotel chain Candles from Terrain Fancy chocolates Tea from the UK |
Well said. Geez. |
+1. I suspect the PP who listed those luxuries is a much happier person then the one condemning them. |
Yes. But if you had to strip the bed, wash and dry the sheets and remake the bed, it negates a lot of the luxury. We do every other week because it’s a time suck and I’d rather relax than do it weekly. |
Ew how grimy and gross are you? |
Clean sheets and good bedding in general. Nice wool socks when it’s cold. |
