Thoughts on this 10 million plus McLean house?

Street view is the kicker

10 mil for a house in McLean on only a 1 acre lot? That is crazy. This is McLean, not Beverly Hills.

Love but builder grade fixtures and terribly cheap lighting! You would need to change out most overhead lights and all the bathroom s

I’d expect a better lawn and landscaping.

What would make it nicer? I really like it.

I like hate the paneling, it will look so dated. Aside from that I love it, just 8.5mm short of being able to afford it.

It is interesting to see people claim the house is overpriced and not worth 10 million. The builders and the listing agent know better and that's why their property is already under contract. Most Artisan properties sell for premium values, especially in that zip code.

This one just sold for almost 9, also in 22101. https://www.redfin.com/VA/Mc-Lean/6727-Lucy-Ln-22101/home/9275579

That is Strasburgs house. There is another one artisan sold another one recently for around $8.5m. I think it was on Holyrood.

Love the office, mudroom, kitchen ceiling.

Very nice stairwell.

Meh on the kitchen cabinets - in particular the floating countertops and stuck-on panels.

Tacky bar and generally everything is unnecessarily over-sized (example: master bath) which becomes off-putting.

The house looks better from behind.

Strasburgs did not live on Dulaney. Their house was on other side of GT Pike.

Seriously, how big is the market for this type of house?? Redfin shows the PITI with a 20% DP as $61.5K per month. Keeping that payment as 36% of your income would require an income north of $2 million.

But once you get into these astronomical, multimillion dollar salaries, I assume you have to become more conservative and assume that may not continue uninterrupted for the next 30 years. So you buy it if you make $4 million a year? How many people make that and happen to be looking for a house at any given time? Can’t be too many.

I think you are underestimating how many wealthy people are in this region. Also there are many buyers from other states as well as international buyers that are targeting these areas
