| Peanut butter chocolate chip — with dark chocolate chips |
| I don't want to yuck anyone's yum, but must say that I'm really surprised by some of these choices! |
|
Barefoot contessa has a chocolate cookie with white-chocolate chunks. That is the 2nd best cookie
|
Yup. |
| I hate most cookies because they're way too sweet (and most desserts). So I make my own, with ginger or almonds and very little sugar. |
Yes, this 100%. Except if we're talking Christmas cookies. Then it's the jam-filled almond ones my mom used to make with Mexican wedding cookies in second place. |
| When I want comfort food, I make chocolate no bake cookies. So many memories of childhood bake sales! |
| My mom's lemon cookies, followed by snickerdoodles. Chocolate chip cookies would be tied with the peanut butter ones with the hershey kisses for 3rd place. |
Darn, I forgot hamantaschen, they fit between the lemon and the snickerdoodles. They are a little more fussy so I don't make them as often, but so so good. |

First is a “al dente” 1/4” vanilla sugar cookie with vanilla royal icing - no lemon or almond!
Second is a well executed drop cookie - could be chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter blossom, as long as it’s done well. Not all chocolate chip cookies are good. |
| Snickerdoodles and Russian Tea Cakes. |
I agree that White Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut cookies are the undisputed #1 champion for the title of 2nd place cookie. I'm always excited when I find one on a cookie platter, even though i would always pick a chocolate chip first. but that little taste of hawaiian heaven right after a bite of the traditional choco chip? Sublime. I also get excited about rolled sugar cookies cut into shapes, with or without sprinkles and frosting. It just feels like a little hug when you know someone decorated a cookie for you. |
Same! I always wondered why shops sold oatmeal raisin cookies and ginger cookies. But now I know why! (I also wonder if PPs also like Christmas fruitcake?) |
I like hamentaschen but if it’s not Purim I would never pick one over a good cookie like the chocolate world peace cookie. |
+1. Whatever cookie is nearby. |
