Talk to me about Eminem

This is dumb. Dre and Snoop are still out there and they have money. Why should old rappers retire at age 50 when the vast majority of us keep working long after? We all need to keep busy - particularly those who are used to success.

There are musicians who are old as dirt still on tour not because they need the money but because they love the art - e.g, Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Peter Gabriel, Cher, Madonna, and I could go on and on. Do you think they're all broke because they still perform - or is it only the rappers who must be broke if they still work?

Rapping is the lowest form of pop music. It has no longevity. And the performers look ridiculous when they’re old and rapping songs from 20 plus years ago.

He grew up. As people do.

And I bet he'll become a grandfather in the not-so-distant future.

What’s wrong with that? His daughter has graduated college and is married. Not that you need to have done those things, but if you want to be judgy, there isn’t really anything to judge.

He’s old. That’s all. Grandfather rapping. It’s sad. Hang it up. He a producer and record label owner. Become a fast food franchisee. Idk.

Ok, I guess it’s not for you. Luckily there are plenty of options out there you can listen to instead.

His net worth is 230 million - he is probably going to have to work at Wendy’s because his last record was a huge flip.

He’s a recording artist, not a ditch-digger.

Jfc, how do all these morons find DCUM?

I'm from Michigan:
- say what you want about him, but his ability to rhyme words is phenomenal. An English professor couldn't do it.
- his daughter is very nice, my DD has met her.
- his ex-wife has tremendous problems, very sad.
- looked at by locals as a decent guy vs. Kid Rock. who is an idiot.

And yet, rap makes the most money and is arguably the biggest influence on all of pop music worldwide. I don't think folks like Jay-Z got the memo on that. As the current richest musician in the world, don't think he gives a damn though.

But people are still listening to it because nothing today is nearly as good as what came out 20 years ago.

Rap isn’t pop music. Honestly, how old are you? What are your favorite bands?

Eminem’s verses in Godzilla are some of the craziest I’ve ever heard and lest anyone think he’s washed this is only from 4 years ago. “Lyrical technician, an electrician, y’all light work.”

He’s a genius.

Have you seen 8 Mile? He was great in it. It wasn't as cliched as I thought it would be either. Mekhi Phifer was so cute in it too.

Any artist that has his kind of staying power over multiple generations must be doing something right. He's one of the best.
