I like parts of it. Other parts, meh. Don't love the wallpaper in a number of places (room with flamingo). The stained glass windows are beautiful.

Yes! I am shocked that a household with a cat has a Loro Piano cashmere-upholstered bed, however.

WTF is "fake glass"?

I don't agree that the stones and wood are fake.

There was some stained glass window thing in one of the shots.
If you think that stone in the house is functional and not just stone stickers, you should probably have your eyes checked.

LOL, stained glass is not "fake." And that window, such she commissioned, cost a lot more than a standard window would have and likely to a great deal of thought, so adding it to your list of "fake POS" things that no one thought about undermines your thesis.

You may not like the stained glass, but that doesn't make it fake, cheap, or an afterthought.

The commissioned stained glass windows are beautiful, and a lovely touch.

The exposed sprinkler heads popping through the beams would drive me crazy. The house might look nice at first pass but the use of materials, form and function look sloppy and amateurish for what I'm sure cost a LOT of money

I looked carefully at each pic and watched the video, and I don't see any sprinklers in the beams. Where do you see this?

Maybe they are little spotlights, who knows. They look like sprinkler heads to me. It's in the kitchen.

I love it, too. It seems so personal to her and, while it's not exactly what I would want, I think she genuinely spends time with her kids there reading and cooking and having friend over. 100% times would rather this than some of those blinged out homes no one uses.

100% I loved it too. And I love her.

I don't care for it at all. To me LA has such amazing architectural gems from the 20s, yet people go for weirdo farmhouse modern, or even worse, the soulless white concrete blocks. It's just sad.

I like it and the stone/wood does not look remotely fake. But agree that the whole scale seems off--e.g. all rooms are cavernous and oversized. Looks more like a house for entertaining than cozy days w/ family as claimed!

The only thing that seemed genuine was the orchard and garden

I am very picky. Celebrities' homes usually don't impress me.

What I deeply desire is Rivendell.

I want an Art Nouveau style house with Art Nouveau style furniture in various woods and glass, as reimagined by John Howe and Alan Lee, the two Tolkien illustrators who also worked on the movie.

Art Nouveau is a style movement developed in the 19th century, inspired by nature, which emphasizes curved lines instead of straight lines and usually depicts plants and flowers. The Art Nouveau furniture in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris is to die for.

I'd have to pick a lovely spot, next to a waterfall and stream, green and lush and unpolluted and away from fire hazards, and without mosquitoes and ticks. I specialize in fragrant species of roses, so my garden will be full of them. There will be English and French styles of gardens. Maybe some black-nosed Valais sheep (the cutest breed of sheep).

Sigh. In my next life, maybe.

I liked the library and outdoor space, and the reading nook, and the greenhouse.

The rest of the house was fine. It looks comfortable and I'm sure there are kids and animals all over the place, which is lovely and homey.

Seems like she employes a lot of people. I am glad that someone can earn money off of this extravaganza.

Is she planning on moving? Most celebs only do these shoots when they are moving otherwise it is too much information and risks their privacy and safety.

It looks pretty staged too.

That library was so dark. It seems like it would be hard to read in there. I loved some parts of the house, but others didn’t appeal to me. Her house seems like a great place for kids to hang out. I don’t understand why she doesn’t have a pool house. That would help keep wet kids from going from the pool into the main house. Would have loved to see where she stores her red carpet couture.
