Agree.

Tip-off - when she said she could have gotten more generous portions elsewhere.

Lol!

Yeah, I got curious and looked at the Tysons menu online. Based on what OP claims to have ordered ... it probably would not be $225. Not even with ordering the more expensive things and tax and tip.

No just did it
app $18.95, 18.95 and $17.95 = $55.85
Mains $38.99 and $44.95 = $83.90(steak)
Drinks 3.95 x 2= $7.90
Cheese cake 10.95 x 2 = $21.90

Total $169.55
Tax 10%
$186.50
%20 tip
Total $223.80 some of the drinks could be a few dollars more like lemonade.

The vast majority of entrees are more like 25-30. If OP ordered two filet mignons then the price seems right.

Cheesecake factory sucks. It's a chain. Are you from like the middle of nowhere Arkansas and now in a big fancy suburban mall? Wow.

Last spring, we went to the cheesecake factory and vowed to never go back. Family of 4, we ordered the cheaper options on the menu, no apps, and the price was still so high for the quality and value of a food. We didn’t even have enough for leftovers. So it didn’t taste good and it was expensive, which it was a never again from us.

That is a disgusting amount of food. Gross

I have a vegan and a 6 year old who is incredibly picky. Cheescake factory is somewhere that everyone can find something on the menu. It won't be great, but it will be adequate

Are you nitpicking about "portion size" vs "number of portions in a meal"???

Don’t particularly like Cheesecake Factory but everything is just expensive now in restaurants. DD and I had an impromptu lunch at True Fiod Kitchen while shopping at Mosaic and it was 70$ for a cauliflower app and two entrees. It’s made me rethink those kind of spur of the moment meals out.

OP can’t really complain if they choose to order so gluttonously.

More generous portions than Cheesecake Factory? Their portions are HUGE!

I never understand these comments on the Food forum. I’m slim, eat mostly healthy, work out but I get such a disordered eating/wanting to feel superior vibe from these comments. “Ew gross!” “Oh I could never eat that much!” It’s completely irrelevant to the OP

You ordered a $45 entree. What’re you complaining about again?

The last time I ate at a Cheesecake Factory was 1998. But I have heard they actually make their own food, they don’t just reheat a bunch of Sysco frozen food, so that might make you feel better, OP. Can anyone confirm? Seems impossible for them to cook everything on their extensive menu, but a friend in the restaurant industry said that unlike similar restaurants (Applebys etc), Cheesecake Factory has chefs who actually cook everything, not just microwave premade pasta.
