Paid $225 at Cheesecake Factory – Not Worth It Compared to Better, Cheaper Places?

Some of you people remind me of my clueless friend who at age 25 didnt understand that taxes were taken out of her pay check.

This food order with tax and tip- assume another 25 to 30 percent on top of prices- would easily get to 225 bucks.

Went to American Prime in Tyson's for my husband's birthday. Two adults, two kids. Spent almost $400 and that was with only a cocktail and glass of wine as only one adult drinks.

I thought it was mediocre to good. Certainly not great. The sides were basic. The steak frites (what I had) was not hanger steak and was overseasoned. I'd have preferred Cheesecake Factory for $200 in all honesty.

FYI cheese cake was like $13 a piece . We definitely had leftovers and took the cheese cake home but just seemed much more expensive than 2 years a go. We were also in Arlington and I think there is some special tax.

I always leave Cheesecake Factory feeling disappointed and ripped off. 20 years ago DH and I loved it but now we only go if our kids choose it for a celebration. We’ve never spent that much for just 3 people but it’s not unusual for us to pay $40-$50 per person there with dessert (we never do apps) before tip. I just feel like there are much better places at that price point.

That's a lot of food. Try two entrees and a salad. They have an awesome Thai chicken salad. With all that bread, who needs an appetizer.
One cheesecake is plenty as they are big. Drink club soda/water. Usually they don't charge for the gas only soda.

Was there this weekend, after not being there in maybe a year. We noticed the prices were incredibly high. They probably just raised them. A salad with protein protein was easily about 28. Pretty sure an entree I used to get priced literally double what I used to pay. Luckily we were there for lunch and could get smaller and less expensive portions. Didn't get drinks, apps, or cheesecake. Food was ok and service abysmal. Won't be going back anytime soon.
