Judges around the country have to retire by age 60 to 75, why do we allow these fossils to sit on SCOTUS until they croak? It's insane.

If you get rid of the filibuster. And you do not want to do that with the new incoming Congress.

Republicans ditched the filibuster for SCOTUS nominees in 2016 when Gorsuch was confirmed. Dems could do this if they wanted to. But they won't.

If Sotomayor has to retire before 28 it will ensure the next 25 years of the court is conservative.
Alito and Thomas will retire before 28.

If Sotomayor does an RBG that would be crazy bad luck for democrats.
