Who will finally retire after this election?
Obvi not the recent women added.

Do voters think about possible implications of that orangehead-convicted-felon getting to choose again? That alone should make voters NOT vote for him. Are Get Out the Vote workers/volunteers and all of us driving this point to any undecided voters (how can one be undecided now is beyond my comprehension) and to each voter planning to vote for that felon??

If Trump is elected and GOP controls the Senate, Alito and Thomas will retire. It's been reported that both of them have made primate comments to that effect. Not sure what they'd do Dems keep control of the Senate.

Not necessarily survive old age. They’re both very old men.

Thomas and Alito are the oldest, but both are relatively healthy.

Sotomayor is 70 and has diabetes. Although she has been keeping it under control, it is not unusual as a senior gets older, that they have additional compications or have problems keeping such a lifelong condition under control.

These are the three most likely to retire. Obviously, all want to retire when there is a president of their party in office, but they may or may not have the choice. My mother has been extremely healthy for years, but she just had an ankle injury this weekend and we're facing some hard decisions about how to handle her living by herself with the new condition. People over 70 can have an issue that when younger is totally minor, but can require some significant life changes when older.

It is so scary to think of another term with that felon. For justices, they should practice what they "preach": fairness. Step aside as RBG should have. Sotomayor should have in the last three years.

Sotamayor will not retire - she will die on the bench

If djt and r senate, she will face unbelievable pressure to retire and have a replacement jammed thru during the lame duck due her diabetes and portly latinas not aging well but she will be adamant about dying on the bench come what may

Thomas will retire if Trump wins + r senate

Alito won’t retire

Kagan is an ashkenazi woman so she has a good 30 years left in her even though places like vox have called for her retirement as well

They are 74 and 76 years old respectively, still a lot younger than RGB when she died (87).
