| Anyone read K Brown-J's new book? Does she talk at all about her fellow justices? |
They are both embittered enough to try and hold on for four more years. If they didn’t start their tenures as paranoid ideologues with persecution complexes, they have certainly blossomed into the resentful, regressive Statler and Waldorf of the Supreme Court we know today. |

Why does everyone point to Sotamayor's diabetes as such an issue? Yes, diabetes is a complicated disease. But one she's been managing for many decades.
And given the recent technology changes in diabetes care, there is absolutely no reason to make her health an issue right now. Seems like pretty abelist crap to me. |
“Ableist”? GTFOH She’s had some real health concerns in the last few years. Scalia dropped dead on the golf course RBG finally got tagged by cancer. I don’t think she is more at risk that Thomas (he doesn’t have statistics on his side) But people have a right to care about what happens if we unexpectedly lose a justice, and to want to plan accordingly. |
I'm married to an Ashkenazi woman and this is news to me. |
And much older than many other people. As far a like expectancy goes, compare justices to the general population and not each other. |
+1 My grandma had diabetes and lived to 89 (including surviving a case of Covid in 2021). |
| Can Biden increase number of justices within the next few months? |
No, it's Congresss decision. |
I hope she can hold on the four years with her health issues. |
| Let’s pack it with conservatives! I think Kamala was recommending a new number of 15 justices. |
Judges around the country have to retire by age 60 to 75, why do we allow these fossils to sit on SCOTUS until they croak? It's insane. |
If Sotomayor resigned now, do you think the Dems could get an appointment through? |
| again like in 2016...will Sotomayor make it until 2029?? |
If you get rid of the filibuster. And you do not want to do that with the new incoming Congress. |
