He entire cheek usually has a red hue to it, and I've never felt any bumps on them, nor anywhere else on his body.

There was a kid in my school growing up who was blond and blue eyed, didn't seem particularly shy or anything, but always had red cheeks above the jaw line sort of in the jowl area. It was just a healthy glow and quite attractive. If that's what he has, it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Yeah, I used to get like that too when I was younger. My face would get so red and hot, I thought I'd turn purple!

NP. My teen son has very rosy cheeks too. He is extremely fair skinned and dark haired. We are Irish and his complexion completely matches his red haired father. I think it is just his skin type.

His rosy red cheeks and freckles lets me know just how Irish he is lol

Soolantra creme--this kills the microscopic mites that cause the irritation and redness.
Wash pillowcases and sheets once a week in hot water and in a hot dryer. This also kills the mites.
Niacinimide (oral) pills --not the lotions with niacinimide

The OTC lotions to fight redness were useless. The niacinimide in solutions was useless.

Are you guys Irish? Some Irish are just rosy cheeked.

Well apparently you are wrong, and all rosy cheeks equal rosacea 🙄

My 21yo has this, all through teen years. He told me years ago he liked it and also that he thought it was rosacea (so I guess was googling). I have rosacea that gets better and worse, but it’s not like his red cheeks.

I’m pp. This is exactly my son, but Irish/English.

When did he first have it and were his cheeks red always? I'm looking at rosacea pictures and they look nothing like what my son has. His cheeks are just red, without veins, bumps, or burning.

Rosacea is also just the redness.

Many times there is no bumps or burning.

My veins did not come into view for 30 years. Prior to that I just had the red cheeks.

I have rosacea and it’s nothing like his. You can see broken capillaries on my forehead/cheeks. His is just rosy red, like flushed with no veins, bumps, or burning. Like I said, he likes it, so for him, nothing to solve. I’m sorry your DS is frustrated with it.

He had it early teens.

Doesn't rosacea appear in people 30-40? I have pictures of him when he was 2-3, and his cheeks were rosy red. And even if it is rosacea, why have none of the derms said anything about it?
I'm just really curious as to why. Thanks

Did you find out why he had red cheeks?

My DS is the same almost all the time. I've taken him to the doctor's to be diagnosed with a case of having having a healthy glow. Even nowadays in his early 20's, his cheeks are rosy.
