Teen with Rosy Cheeks

Have him mix some concealer into moisturizer or buy a slightly tinted moisturizer. It just cuts down the redness a little bit doesn’t look like makeup up

Azelac lotion, from Sesderma, is great for rosacea-prone skin. Ask your derm first, though, don't know if it is right for young skin.

Try Soolantra--it only takes a little to get rid of the redness. Get it from Derm.

second the soolantra! I have roseacea and this worked wonders in just a few weeks.

He doesn't have Rosacea

Yes he does

Anonymous wrote:For me this started in my late teens and was indeed rosacea. Once I changed my diet and skincare, it improved dramatically. Lasers fixed the rest.

Same for me, though I didn't do lasers. I just use prescription medication and it's been at bay for decades now.

This reminds me of the actor who played Sam on Freaks and Geeks and then was on Bones. He is really cute and has very rosy cheeks:

Are you guys Irish? Some Irish are just rosy cheeked.

NP. My teen son has very rosy cheeks too. He is extremely fair skinned and dark haired. We are Irish and his complexion completely matches his red haired father. I think it is just his skin type.

I struggled with rosacea for many years. What works for me is glycerine only face soap, natural sensitive moisturizer (innbeauty). When it's bad I put ivermectin topical which is the main ingredient in the prescription soolantra rosacea topical. Also keep hair out of face when sleeping, take a shower before bed, change pillowcases every week, wash with sensitive detergent.

Both sides of the family are mainly Irish and English. My sister has flushed cheeks a lot of time, and I kinda did too when I was very young.

Is it Keratosis?

My dad has rosy cheeks and some bumps from that on her face. And arms.

Genetics, like the Danish men I know. Rosy cheeks and blond hair, tall too!

I was a blusher and hated it. Could not control blushing, people would stare at me like I was from another planet, and it would happen at weird moments that may or may not have had any significance. Totally embarrassing and lasted through my 20's.

There was a kid in my school growing up who was blond and blue eyed, didn't seem particularly shy or anything, but always had red cheeks above the jaw line sort of in the jowl area. It was just a healthy glow and quite attractive. If that's what he has, it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Same! It made me so self conscious. Consult with a few derms if possible to see what they suggest. Mine went away with age (also mid 20s) but I would have loved a solution earlier

My DD has something like this too, but she has keratosis pilaris on her cheeks. Where on your son’s cheeks is the redness (my DD’s is lower cheek vs cheekbone) and are there any subtle bumps if you touch the area?
