I think what's terrible is the setup there apparently lets covid run rampant. Good on him for masking and going to a hotel. Glad he did medal even if not the dream he pursued.

Covid is such a serious virus a gold medalist is only a fraction of a second off his best time with it? Sounds pretty low risk.

When he's no longer in his prime, of course he's going to compete. Athletes are not going to give up a lifetime of training just because they happened to test positive for a virus. More power to them.

I mean, training this hard at this level is going to have a greater impact on athlete health in the long term so Covid is small potatoes. But if people are that scared they need to avoid public spaces all the time. Because you never know.

He could have worn a 95 type mask in the warm up area and other indoor area and taken it off outside. He instead wore a surgical mask losely inconsistently while inside.
