If you don’t have more than 2 children, why?

Severe hyperemesis gravidarum with the second pregnancy. NO WAY would I have contemplated a third. I was totally unable to function as a wife, mother and teacher, even WITH a lot of family help.

As an aside, I have WASPy family members who believe only animals are meant to have over two kids and look down on people with large families.

in the UK families with 4 kids or more are either aristos / very rich or very poor and living on welfare

Money. We were making GS-11 type money, which leaves little bandwidth for buying a home, child care and health issues. Two were more than we could afford as it was.

I do think there are those who feel that parenting is best left to those making DCUM-worthy incomes.

I have one kid. My pregnancy was awful. I’m able to give my kid pretty much anything she wants. I wouldn’t if I had more….

Because I wanted two and I was fortunate to have two.

I didn’t want more than two. We have replaced ourselves, that’s more than enough.

Why do we need to know the offensive views of your family members? What difference does it make that they’re WASPs?

I was afraid I'd have another boy. 2 has been more than enough.

I’m a single parent and I don’t have the energy or money for more kids. I also don’t have time to date so one kid it is! Where’s the easy button?

The people I know with three or more kids are very naive. They don’t have any clue how much college costs these days. They are living in the past.

Finances, I wanted at least 2 and a decent comfortable upbringing.

We only have one. It was a combination of money and energy, I don't have the energy to have two kids. I was also an only child and had a very happy childhood and was happy to replicate that.

Because I’m not a breeder
