| Why didn’t you have more children? What would motivate you to have more? |
| It didn’t happen |
| Why would I want more than two? |
|
If one of the several miscarriages had gone to term, I would have had more.
Please don’t ever ask this question of someone in person. Yes, you are the @$$hole. |
| We had two because that is what we could handle and afford without any family support. We also could see how a third put a strain on the marriages of several of our friends. |
| We wanted 3 but the pregnancy and delivery of #2 were so problematic we stopped at 2. |
| I didn’t know JD Vance posted on DCUM! |
| Because of health and money concerns, plus several miscarriages. |
|
Pre eclampsia and HELLP, twice ..with the first being a preemie and in the NICU for several weeks, second got closer to term but PIH hit really hard and fast at the end. I was terrified that I would lose our second and DH thought I was going to die. Too risky to try again.
If abortion was illegal where we lived, we would not have had more than 1 perhaps not even 1. |
Same. |
| Because of infertility |

Few people in D.C. are actual natives. All of our extended family lives far away; we only came here for the jobs.
We are all on our own raising kids. Hence, two is the max. |
| I only wanted one. I wanted the flexibility one provides, and I knew more than one would overwhelm me and I wouldn’t be a good mom to more than one. |
Finances and family support. Otherwise I would live to have 4 or 5. |
|
I was poor.
I'm not a very involved parent. Got lucky the two I got need no hand holding. Ex was not a good fit as a partner. Never met a man who would have been a good partner. I hope my boys don't have kids. |
