I suspect a developer offered them more money than they could get listing. The developer is going to make a fortune by subdividing the lots. They know that a SFH, no matter how narrow, is a much easier sell than a duplex, so they built these

Nope — Kimberly Cestari, perhaps the greediest woman in Chevy Chase, had this listing and sold it to a developer friend on the cheap.

Someone should buy the lot next to her and build the same thing

They need to build something even more hideous next door like this:

If you have restrictive setbacks, lot coverage, and height limits then people will find ways to maximize their SF.

Horrible.

The old house was adorable, well built & classic. The new things are truly atrocious. I feel for the neighbors

Kimberly has entered the chat. She had a listing on the other side of the park in 20011 zip code and listed a home for an inflated price. I’m so glad it sold for $80k less. She was not approachable and has a stank looking face like she can’t be touched.

Are you saying that she took power of attorney for the previous owner? Or you have direct information about the negotiations between the previous owner and the developer? What other offers were, and that apparently the agent in question convinced the previous owner to accept a lower offer?

False. It’s an African developer. Africans have a different aesthetic — lets just leave it at that.

I suspected it was not an American who developed the lot. To American eyes these are butt ugly. But the future of the U.S. is with immigrants who think this look is attractive.

Be prepared for more ugly real estate. It's coming. Virginia is getting a lot of these hideous developments.

Come on, say what you really mean. It's only 14 words.

The older house may have needed too much work for the price. It looks like they did that to build two houses on one lot. Ulgy.

Ha no love.for real estate agents here, trust me. I am just confused as to how the PP can know what actually happened in the transaction.

Progress? They are ugly and don’t go with the neighborhood. Also they look cheap.

I feel for the neighbors. I live on a double lot and my spouse and I discussed not selling to developers.

Is it a designated historical zone or have development guidelines, either municipal or HOA? If not, not your problem.

What is this bulky box in the island? A display cabinet? Or some sort of appliance?

No one has ever been this worked up about a real estate agent.
