The “DEI hire” BS will backfire. Women and minorities have been hearing “the diversity hire” for decades. I have personally been told this at work when I was given an award for performance. Male coworkers told me it was because I was a woman. (Totally ignoring the 3 sixty hour weeks I put in to do it.)
