Nicest NVSL pools

Facility and hospitality are part of it. For dual meets so is the friendliness of the hosts and the quality of their officials.

RF has very little shade.

- Spectators can see while not actually being on the pool deck
- Parking lot has plenty of space for the team areas
- Pool is reasonable depth
- Nice club house and bathrooms
- Concessions were good

Parking can be a bit of a challenge which is probably why they haven't hosted one of the big meets.

LRR has hosted individual all-stars a couple of times that I know of. It was probably 8 years ago. We parked at Centreville HS.

Yes, their All Stars was the best.

Not sure why everyone is all about the 10 lanes. I guess that nice for B meets, but all other meets only use 6 lanes so the extra 4 are just for decoration.

We had relay carnival there one year and I was not a fan. Sure the bathrooms are nice, but viewing is from the turn end so really had to see and kids were stuck sweating to death on the tennis courts.

Besides the viewing at the turn end, Virginia Run has viewing along one side of the race. They provide both bleachers and pool deck chairs for spectators. I’ve also seen other spectators bring their own folding chairs and setup where they have wanted. Yes, kids were on tennis courts. My kid prefers pool deck/tennis court team areas due to bugs and grass sticking to them in field team areas. Virginia Run is also way out there though.

I felt like such a rube at Highlands - I didn’t realize an indoor snack bar with seats & AC was something a summer pool could have

Highlands location is gorgeous. It’s parking and deck space is awful

Nicest depends on your criteria. Some of the nicest facilities we’ve been to have had coaches who are generating and supporting in my opinion unacceptable behaviors and sportsmanship for youth (or any) sports.

Their grounds are amazing - 2 pools and huge, with lots of big trees and shade! Friendly team/officials/vibe too. But their bathrooms are a serious throwback.

Hello Tuckahoe and Chesterbrook!!

Exactly. We go to one of these pools and while the facility is beautiful there is just way too much crazy.

Are we allowed to do worst pools? Or would that get killed by the moderators?

Unnamed pool in Wheaton/Silver Spring area… our coach wouldn’t let our team warm up and our rep threatened to cancel the meet if they didn’t skim the pool. There was a sheen of sunscreen mixed with dead flies covering nearly the entire 25 meters. Not to mention much of the coping stone was slimy to the touch.
