What have you completely changed your mind about?

Anonymous
Abortion: used to be very pro-choice, now I’m very much against it except in extreme circumstances.

Police: used to support them. Now I think they’re only out for themselves and the special privileges of being cops.

Trump: still don’t like him but want him back in the White House, even if Biden isn’t the candidate anymore.

Climate Change: used to sweat things like keeping the thermostat at 82 in the summer and 60 in the winter and not going on vacations because of flying… but then I see these celebrities talking about saving the planet but then living ostentatious lives with way more consumption than I ever dream of, and just said F’ it - it’s either a scam or I’m a sucker.

Beer: I’m no longer ashamed to admit I like simple domestic mass produced light beer, served cold.

Grass/yard: I don’t give a sh!t about having a super perfect lawn anymore because all the chemical crap that has to put on it. I’m fine with my short, weedy grass.

Hair: I don’t need to spend $175 every few weeks on something as stupid as hair. I pill it back, wrap a tie or scrunchie around it, and go on with life.

Running: I thought running was stupid. Now I really enjoy it.

Put Bulls: used to hate them, now I have one. She’s the sweetest dog I’ve ever known.

Minivans: swore I’d never own one. Absolutely love my Sienna.

I’m a totally different (and much better) person at 41 than I was at 25. I cringe looking back at what I used to be like, even though back then I was a lot closer to ideals of what popular culture said was ideal for women to look, act and think like.

I’m no longer a Republican.

As long as I understand what you're trying to say, then we're all good. Pointing out other people's grammar mistakes in low stakes communication is just a petty way to undermine them and their ideas. Yes, we shouldn't have spelling errors on a printed handout. No, your comma splice doesn't mean your idea is stupid.

This.

Similarly, clothing. Wear what you want, with the understanding that clothing sends a message, and you should be making choices knowing that. But once you know, it's up to you how to deal with that information.

Same, especially dress codes at work. People should feel comfortable and be clean and that's all that's needed for most jobs.

Laziness. I no longer believe it exists. What looks like laziness is usually a mental health issue.

Peaches. I always thought they were dry and kind of bitter. Then I had a ripe one picked right off the tree, juice running down my chin. OMG. It's like s totally different fruit.

Death penalty

LEO family realize how incompetent state’s attorneys are and they will prosecute innocent people to “close a case” even when know the person is innocent.

I used to trust main stream media, but the Kyle Rittenhouse case and the messaging on the vax changed everything for me.

Gender

I never understood sex vs gender. Have a good friend who is non binary and my whole idea of gender has shifted.

God bless them for the education.

I'll start.
* Twenty years ago "man always pays" (on a date, on a trip) seemed the only acceptable way. Now, while I'm far from militant about splitting the bill, I do think arguments for splitting, or at least taking turns paying, are actually better most of the time, at least when the people involved have similar income.
Of course, it's all theory for me by now, not practice.

* In the early 90s I really liked [gangsta] rap. Looking back at the older material, I still enjoy the beats and appreciate the lyrical skills, but have a 'hard disagree' with the mentality and find it's been doing a disservice to the audience. Note: I do fully realize I'm not the audience. Can still have an opinion.

Taking everything religious folks say as gospel. Religion is a broad guideline. God blessed you with intellect and compassion, use it.

LEO Family member here.. I used to listen to the actual facts of cases at home and then what I would hear on the media and knew that it was never truthful. You can’t even trust the weather.

I used to believe tobacco, vap, alcohol and soda are fine in moderation, turns out all favorable studies were industry funded.

I thought US college admissions were merit based.

I believed in average college cost estimates, turned out if you are frugal and saved, you pay penalty.

Celebrity love is just PR, higher the hype, shorter the relationship.
