So heartless. I hope you NEVER have to experience homelessness.

They think they're insulated from this. It's that old cliche poem over and over again first they came for the homeless, and I did nothing. They forget how the poem ends. We are sleepwalking into something very bad.

The rhetoric against migrants, against trans people, against homeless people is scary. They are slowly criminalizing it all. Meaning they will round up and "detain" them. Forcing them to work for free in the cages and camps you all let them build at the border.

Once they're done with the migrants, trans people, homeless people, who the hell do you think is next?

The 1930's are repeating themselves before our eyes and you morons either can't see it, or you secretly want it.

You need to open your eyes. There’s no infinite source of money. You can’t open the borders to everyone and also house them and also have the money for citizens to have shelters too.

Allowing people to live in dangerous tent cities is inhumane and does them no favors. They need to find another solution.

And that solution is???????

If solutions didn’t exist, we would have uniform tent encampments everywhere. But we don’t. You don’t see those tent encampments outside the progressive cities that allow it.

The institutions had many problems in the past but the street is not a better place. Rebuild and reform the MH institutes.

Thanks to Ronald Reagan, those facilities were all closed, which spurred the absolute BOOM in homelessness that our society has been trying to play catch up to ever since. The GOP doesn't want to fund social services, and people fight having homeless shelters in their communities and people on this thread, from their safe perches simply suggest "they" find "other solutions" without offering anything up.

Bottom line, we have homeless people. What do we do with them?

Not according to the courts.

LOL, no, the homeless are not the illegal immigrants who have family members they are generally staying with awaiting their administrative hearings.

SMH

Your tent encampments are dangerous places for those who live there and for everyone else. They are also illegal.

Find another solution.

Offer another solution, since you just banned this one.

No YOU need to open your eyes. Money isn't real. We have the literal resources to do whatever we need. We do not have the WILL because we allow money, which again is NOT REAL, and the profit motive to justify so much land and literal usable houses to sit empty while desperate people live on the streets.

We have enough of everything we need as a country. We have the housing. We have the land. We have the food.

People go without because we choose to make money more important.

Money isn't real.

The borders are not open. Tent encampments have been around for decades before Biden became president. We have a shortage of shelters and resources for addicts and the mentally ill. The GOP refuses to provide money for any of this and the problem exacerbates. go ahead and keep sticking your head in the sand and I guess one day, it will magically resolve itself. And god forbid you or a family member ever find yourself in such a position.

Battling homelessness is an issue for local governments. You aren’t seeing these encampments in Charleston or Jacksonville. You are seeing them in Democrat run cities like NYC and Portland. The issue of GOP funding is nonsensical.

Let's ship them all down to the South. Those states already have the highest percentage of people on government assistance as it is. What's a few thousand more?

Does this mean they'll finally evict all the homeless from the bathrooms at Union Station?

omg

Tell your mortgage holder that, the grocery store cashier, the airlines, the hospital, the veterinary office: “hey guys! Money isn’t real.”

What a nightmare you people are.

It is always a relief to travel to Florida. Suddenly there are very few homeless people. It’s like going back in time to a better place. Was also great during Covid to be out in public without (as we now know) useless masks.
